SHARED SUPPLY PIPES

It's quite common for older properties, especially older terraced houses to share a common supply pipe, meaning one main pipeline will provide water for a number of houses. This is problematic due to common supply pipes usually not supplying enough water pressure & being unable to meet the demands of modern living. These shared common supply pipes are often made from lead as well which brings its own health hazards as well.

If you are suffering with a lead shared common line you can apply to your water company's lead replacement scheme. They will provide you with a new connection to the water main free of charge once you are accepted onto the scheme. Our engineers at Mainswell will then lay a new water supply meaning you will have a separate water supply and be able to benefit from healthier water & better water pressure.
